No dia de abertura quem abriu o mar foram os Baianos Kadu e Kevin! Com o mar ganhando tamanho durante o dia,  o mad dog crew apareceu no outside tambem. Marcio, Danilo e Yuri pegaram as suas.

Wednesday - Kite Mission


The waves were still good before the wind. check out Greg's Wave:

Quando Eu e Fernando chegamos no Outside, o vento comecou a morrer. Regularmente montamos o Kite no canal e subo upwind ate a onda. Mas dessa vez foi diferente. Montamos o kite passando upwind da onda. Meu plano era vir downwind mirando uma bomba e largar o kite e botar pra dentro do barrel! Nao aconteceu bem assim ainda. Mas peguei uma menor e soltei o kite. O verdadeiro Tow-in sozinho!

Com o vento abaixando desmontamos o kite, e ainda pude pegar as ultimas ondas do swell rebocado por Tide Rivers.

Conclusao:  Kite em Peahi eh mto dificil, tow-in eh mais fun que paddle in, mas eu preciso fazer uma gunzeira nova!

Last couple days I had a blast at Hookipa. The windsurf crowd finally left the island. And the end of the season still gave us a little NE swell. 

I'm so stoked to be part of the invitational trials for the Hookipa KSP Tour Event. This December, the international windsurf spot will be a world kitesurf wave arena. The very first kitewave event there. We had the King of the Air before, but that one was a freestyle competition.

I can't wait!

Downwind Run

This time, I left my car at Kanaha and took a ride with Marcio and Jacob till lanes. On my way down the coast I could see Marcio,and we cruise on thoses bumps for a little bit. But Jabob, he was gone already!! One of the best paddlers on the island, was trying to bit his personal record from the maliko run. Plenty wind, cool bumps, lots of waves, different breaks and beaches and awesome views. The video end at Maliko, where Marcio took his car. The Music is Right Time, from The Alliez, where Jacob is the singer!

Waiehu Kite

I got one email from Olivier couple days ago, with one wave at waiehu. That's how this video started. Than I started to look for some more stuff from there. I found the same wave ina go pro, couple other waves and a lot of hilarious character.

Stong East Wind and East Swell, Waiehu loves it! Summer sessions on the way! For sure you gona find this crowd there on these condition.

April at Lanes

Probably one of the last swells of the season. Realy good NorthEast steady wind, some clean walls and a lots of Fun.

Winter is Over! Time for some south swell, La Perouse, Shark Pit... And time for some diving!!!

Today we went to Lanai for some spearfishing! Great time with friends and marine wildlife.

Amanha tem mais!

Tenho escrtito e postado muito pouco. Nessa era de facebook o blog ficou um pouco esquecido. Mas vou procurar retomar e dar vida ao Jelly Fish!!!

Amanha a tarde o ski vai estar na maliko pronto para mais um dia de kite em Peahi. Eu e Fernando Canuso poremos para o alto o Park 2012 provavelmente de 7 metros por volta de 2 horas da tarde no canal.

Ultimo velejo em peahi foi intenso, estava gigante! Testemunhei uma sessao epica na remada pela manha antes do vento ! Insano!

Feliz ou triste de nao ter minha 10'2 inteira para a sessao, fiquei no canal de jet-ski apreciando aquelas bombas e fazendo alguns resgates. Dois desses merecem um paragrafo!

O de Carlos Burle. Depois de pegar uma esquerda e faze-la ate o fim, foi surpreendido com a serie quando voltava remando para o pico. Tomou duas ondas na cabeca antes que pude chegar ate ele. Ja com a prancha quebrada, soltou o leash e subiu no sled. Larguei ele perto das pedras e foi buscar sua gun no quebra-coco de Peahi.

O de Yuri Soledade. Veio numa bomba! Air-drop insano, e quando chegou na base a onda o engoliu. Tomou mais uma na cabeca antes que eu pudesse tirar ela do espumeiro-areia-movedissa.

Nesta quarta dia 4, quando o vento entrou, voltamos para velejar.

No domingo seguinte aconteceu isso!

Amanha e terca serao dois dias que prometem boas ondulacoes para a regiao. Vamos ver o que a Natureza e Netuno nos aguarda! Que Deus nos abencoe e todos possamos ter apenas boas memorias desses dias.
